Hi everyone.!! Hope everyone is doing well on this Wednesday morning. I’m doing well, except I wish it was summer. I hate the cold weather.!!
Well enough about me.!! Lets get on with this blog post shall we…
We love pampering ourselves at the nail salon, but sometimes the budget just doesn’t allow it. Thankfully, a DIY manicure can be just as good and relaxing. And, with the right products and a little know-how, the results can really be salon worthy. To get the best results, I have rounded up some of the most common DIY manicure mistakes for you to avoid. Ensuring your nail manicure every single time.!!
- YOU’RE FILING YOUR NAILS BACK AND FORTH
Ahh Nah-uh babe.!! Please file your nails in one direction only, or you’ll risk damaging and splitting your nail. Also make sure your nails are totally dry before filing your nails.
- YOU’RE SKIPPING THE BASE COAT
This is a huge mistake.! Not only does the base coat prolong the life of your manicure, it prevents nail discoloration and can help strengthen weak nails. One of my faves to use is Sally Hanson Double duty base and top coat leaving my nails feeling nourished, smooth and strong.
- YOU’RE SHAKING YOUR NAIL POLISH BOTTLE
For an even and smooth application, roll your nail polish bottle between the palm of your hands, rather than shaking it. This will prevent annoying little air bubbles forming in the nail polish.
- YOU’RE CUTTING YOUR CUTICLES
If you do this.!! STOP it right now.!! Cutting the cuticles can lead to a nasty infection and damaged nails. Instead, you should be soaking your finger- tips in warm soapy water, and gently pushing back the cuticles with a wooden cuticle stick. If you notice your cuticles are often cracked and peeling, add a nourishing cuticle oil before bedtime.!!
- YOU’RE WAITING FOR THEM TO DRY NATURALLY
Ain’t nobody got time for this, to sit around literally watching paint dry.!! Dipping your nails in iced water helps speed up the drying process, but not as much as a quick-dry top coat. I use the Sally Hanson insta-dri anti-chip top coat, it gives you a gorgeous wet-look professional finish.
- YOU’RE SKIPPING THE TOP COAT
Not only does it help nails dry, top coat helps give you that salon-finish gloss. And it’s a must to prevent annoying chips in your day old polish.
I hope this has been helpful for you.? I absolutely love doing my nails in the comfort of my own home. My favorite nail polish at he moment is Revlon perfect pair, the color is so beautiful. Please let me know in the comments ,what is your favorite nail polish color.?
Hope everyone has a great day.!!
Until next time
