Hey everyone.!! Hope you are all doing good.? In Australia it’s the school holidays, so having those sleep ins are just the best. What do you like about the school holidays.??
Today I thought that I would help you guys out and give you 6 common mascara mistakes and how to avoid them. I know I made a few of these mistakes. So without any further ado let’s get on with this blog post shall we..
- NOT USING A EYE LASH CURLER.
If you like to give your lashes that extra lift, you should definitely be using an eye lash curler. I know some people might be afraid of using one, but it makes a huge difference when you curl your lashes. Your eyes will look so much more awake. So next time you put on mascara, curl your lashes first.! If your concerned about the curl-factor of your lashes, make your first coat of mascara a waterproof one. Waterproof formulas help hold the curl that regular formulas cause your lashes not to curl.
- PUMPING THE WAND TO GET MORE PRODUCT.
When you pump your mascara you are putting a whole lot of air into the tube, and that will lead to your mascara to dry out faster. It will be a lot harder to apply. So if you’re pumping your mascara STOP it now.!!
- NOT WIPING YOU MASCARA OFF BEFORE USING IT.
A lot of mascara wands have a lot of access product, if you don’t wipe it off before using it, you will end up with thick and clumpy lashes, and know one wants that.! You can wipe off the access product on a tissue, the back of your hand or wipe the wand off on the opening of the tube. You really don’t want to skip that step.! Still, sometimes no matter how hard we try to prevent it, mascara can make lashes clump together. Just make sure to comb through them with a spoolie after application to ensure your lashes aren’t sticking together.
- NOT COATING THE ROOT OF YOUR LASHES.
If you like to give your lashes the volume they deserve, start to apply your mascara at the root and wiggle the wand up, you want most of the product at the root as that’s what makes your lashes look fuller.
- APPLYING TOO MUCH PRODUCT.
This is such a common mistake a lot of people make, and over doing it with too many coats isn’t a good look, so like I mentioned before wipe off the excess product, then apply. I suggest that you only apply around 2-3 coats, after that it just get’s messy.
- KEEPING YOUR MASCARA TOO LONG.
If you check the out of date on the back of your mascara. It’s recommended to keep for 3-6 months, if you have or have a mascara that is out of date, throw it away NOW.!! Using out of date products, especially for the eyes can lead to irritation and infection, so make sure you keep track on how long you have had your mascara. I write the date on it when I opened it, so I know when to buy a new one.
Well I hope you like all of those mascara tips, I know how hard it is to apply your mascara perfectly. ((girl struggles!!) Please let me know in the comments what your favorite mascara is right now.? My favorite mascara at the moment is the Loreal Paradise.
Hope everyone has a great day.!!
Until next time
